Patrick Weiss
Pat began his landscaping career mowing lawns at age ten and has been self-employed ever since. With a degree in Speech Communications from the University of St. Thomas and passion for landscape, Pat founded Ground One in 1989. Under Pat’s capable leadership Ground One has become an industry-leading, award-winning, full service landscape design + build company.
Growing up as an Eagle Scout, Pat was taught to always leave things in better condition than they were found. Landscaping has provided him the creative outlet to do just that. He is an advocate for his clients, and appreciates that he is entrusted to better their lives and their properties. He values these relationships and fosters a collaborative effort in each of his projects.
Fun fact: Pat still owns his first piece of equipment – a 1954 Ford N9 Jubilee Tractor.

Lindsey is our Outdoor Services Accounts Manager, bringing a unique blend of creativity, plant knowledge, and customer care to every garden she oversees. With a background in landscape design and arboriculture, Lindsey has a deep understanding of how to keep outdoor spaces both beautiful and healthy. She works closely with clients to understand their vision and ensures that each garden gets the expert attention it needs to thrive. Whether it’s coordinating seasonal care or solving plant health issues, Lindsey is passionate about making landscapes flourish and building strong, lasting relationships along the way.

Dominick Florer
Dominick Florer is a landscape designer driven by a lifelong love of drawing and design. He has worked on a wide range of project types, from private gardens to urban trail systems. Inspired by his travels and time spent outdoors, he brings a strong sense of place and natural rhythm to every design. Dominick values the collaborative process and takes pride in building lasting relationships with clients grounded in trust and communication. His goal is to create landscapes that feel personal, enduring, and deeply connected to their surroundings.
Project Manager
Sean Petteway
Sean is a dedicated landscape professional with over a decade of experience managing and building high-quality outdoor spaces. With a strong background in both design and field operations, he has led diverse projects across residential, commercial, and municipal sectors. Sean is skilled in AutoCAD and LMN estimating, and regularly oversees crews through all phases of landscape construction—including hardscapes, wood structures, and native planting.
His hands-on leadership style, clear communication, and commitment to craftsmanship make him a trusted partner for clients and crews alike. Sean holds a degree in Horticulture and Spanish Studies from the University of Minnesota and has a passion for sustainable design and thoughtful, natural landscapes.
